Dibbus Design was founded in 2018 by me, Danielle. When my son Sem was just two years old I affectionately called him ‘Dibbes’ as a little nickname. The name ‘Dibbus’ is inspired by the term ‘Ouwe Dibbes’, which translates to ‘Old Chatterbox’ in an endearing way. To make it unique, I swapped the ‘e’ in Dibbes for a ‘u,’ paying homage to Utrecht - the city where our candles & wax melts are lovingly crafted. And that’s how Dibbus Design came into existence!
I still call Sem ‘Dibbes’ today; it perfectly reflects his lively personality and always brings a smile to my face when I say it.

When my lovely 8-year-old son joins me on my journey into candle making, it becomes a heartwarming adventure filled with creativity and joy. As we both brainstorm names for our candles, his imaginative suggestions spark laughter and inspiration. Together, we come up with names that reflect the warmth and love poured into each candle. His unique perspective brings a fun twist to the process, making it all the more special, turning a simple hobby into a cherished family project.

Don’t underestimate my dad, Herman; he’s a vital part of the team! He oversees the administration, offers priceless advice, and provides thoughtful guidance that inspires my creativity. Whenever I have an idea, he's right there to support me! His innovative solutions and talent for problem-solving make every concept I bring to the table much more manageable. Together, we embark on this creative adventure, making lasting memories along the way.
